Bo Watson: Why I think it’s important to limit local property tax hikes

The property tax is one of the oldest forms of taxation in Tennessee. So much so that it has become somewhat of a "sacred cow" to our local governments and to the tax-and-spend liberals like Ben Sessoms ("Bo Watson's I got-mine, you get yours economy," Times 02/03). To even consider limiting the tax burden placed on our taxpaying citizens is seen as "nonsense" by the likes of Mr. Sessoms.
