About Bo
Tennessee born and raised.
Since he was first elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2006, Senator Watson has remained committed to serving not only his constituents but residents across Tennessee through participation and leadership in various committees. In 2017, he became chairman of the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee—an important role to ensure our state remains fiscally sound. He also created the state of Tennessee’s AI Advisory Council and is a member of the Commerce and Labor Committee, Health and Welfare Committee and Joint Fiscal Review Committee.
Senator Watson is committed to serving his community through organizations including Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Heart Association. He serves as chair of the Douglas Henry State Museum Commission and has previously served on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America Cherokee Council, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Sen. Watson has practiced physical therapy for more than 30 years and serves as Director of Sports Medicine and Therapy Services at HCA Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Sen. Watson has consistently earned high ratings from conservative organizations for his legislative voting record, including repeated scores of 85% or higher from the American Conservative Union. In 2022, The Tennessee Conservative named him one of the Tennessee Senate's Top 5 Freedom Caucus Conservatives, and the Institute for Legislative Analysis honored him with its Defender of Limited Government award.
