BlueCross To Build $10 Million Healthy Place Playground/Park At Riverfront
BlueCross announced on Monday that it will build one of its Healthy Place playground/parks at Ross's Landing Park.
Officials gave credit to state Senator Bo Watson for helping secure the full $15 million for the project and for Ward Davenport for leading the private fund effort.
Senator Watson said, “BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee continues to raise the bar in terms of corporate philanthropy in Southeast Tennessee. This generous investment in Chattanooga’s Riverfront Parks will directly improve the quality of life of our residents for generations to come, and I commend them on their exceptional gift.”
“While our community is home to many exceptionally generous companies, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has long been emblematic of what it means to be a good corporate citizen in Chattanooga. The private and public sectors in our community have a long and proud history of coming together to make big investments in our future, so I am grateful to BlueCross for making yet another historic investment downtown.”
